Speaker doesn’t turn on
The speaker does not show any sign of powering on.
Dead Battery
Make sure you have charged the speaker. If the speaker does not turn on after left charging for some time, then the battery is faulty. The battery may need to be replaced. Check out our battery replacement guide.
Faulty power button
If the device indicates that it is charging when connected to the charging adapter, but won't turn on when the power button is pressed, then the power button may be worn down. Button inspection/replacement may be required. Take a look at our button replacement guide.
Speaker won’t connect to phone
The speaker won’t connect to the phone or tablet via Bluetooth.
Bluetooth is not on
Make sure Bluetooth is turned on in your phone or tablet if your Marshall Emberton won't connect to it. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on by going into your settings and finding it. If it isn't already on, switch it on. When the speaker appears in the Bluetooth settings, click on it to pair it with the phone.
Speaker is not in pairing mode
If your Marshall Emberton does not connect to your phone or tablet, make sure the speaker is in pairing mode. When the speaker is in pairing mode, the speaker has a red pulsing light. If it does not have a red pulsing light, push the Bluetooth button at the top of the speaker until the LED has a red pulse.
Speaker won’t charge
Speaker shows no sign of charging.
Faulty Battery: If your Marshall Emberton won’t charge or unexpectedly shuts off, then you might have a faulty battery. Before taking apart your speaker and replacing the battery there are different components that can make your battery faulty. Such as in hot temperatures, when devices such as Bluetooth speakers are in temperatures that are very hot it can make the battery very slow and drain the battery or even ruin the battery. If the Marshall Emberton wasn’t in hot temperatures then you might go ahead and change the faulty battery. Check out our battery replacement guide.
Faulty Charger
If the Marshall Emberton does not want to charge and refuses to charge the speaker, it might be a faulty USB charger that can be causing this issue. In order to fix this problem you can change your USB Charger.
Faulty Charging Port
If your Marshall Emberton will not charge after changing its charger and the battery then you might have a Faulty Charging port. In order to fix this problem you would have to change the charging port. Check out our charging port replacement guide.
Audio is distorted
The audio coming from the speaker sounds muffled.
Dust or water is inside the speaker
Making sure water/dust hasn’t gone into the speakers is very important, because although a speaker can be “waterproof”, water and dust can get into small spaces inside the speaker. This can cause the audio to sound distorted. In order to fix this, inspect the inside of the speakers making sure there is no water or dust inside. Check out our main speaker replacement guide
Speaker out of Range
Bluetooth speakers have a limited range. When the speaker is out of the restricted range from the source of the audio, the transmission between the devices is weakened. This may cause the audio to be distorted.
Battery is draining too quickly
The Marshall Emberton battery is dying too quickly.
Faulty Battery
Make sure to fully charge the speaker. If the device runs out of battery fast, the battery may be faulty. It may require a replacement. Check out our battery replacement guide.
Wrong Charging Cable is being Used
Many times users use a replacement charging adapter, rather than the original cable that comes with the device when purchased. Usually, the replacement charger doesn’t have the same charging power as the original cable, causing the battery to drain faster than usual.

It feels like something is obstructing the connection between the charger and the port. Not sure what to do.

My speaker isn't turning on without cable and when the cable is connected then all indicators light up like it's fully charged but really isn't, anything else doesn't work nor bluetooth connection. It will just play the sound when I try to put volume up. Any idea what's wrong?

My emberton 2 is turning on very good but cannot find it in pairing mode in any device. Also the sound is not coming from speaker neither the turn on sound nor turn off . Battery is good and is charging also. Only thing is no sound and no pairing. Is this motherboard ? Or any bluetooth card fault ?

These are the worst speakers by Marshall I should have bought Bose after the warranty period the problems cropped up and regret that purchase and Marshall is a substandard brand.

Speaker makes a crackling sound and turns off when volume is raised to 70% or above. It's been a year.

Did you find a solution to this? The speaker makes a very loud, distorted sound then turns off when volume is raised to above 70%. I think the culprit is the battery. Did you try to replace it? I saw a replacement part in Shoppee but am not sure if it is good quality.
