Hover-1 Folding E-Scooter Troubleshooting

Thanks Melissa, mine was working for a week and then stopped responding to my kick off max throttle push. It was great until now it won’t move when I push the throttle. I wasn’t aware of a USB port on this model. I’m pretty sure my Hover 1 scooter doesn’t have a USB port

Our scooter worked great for one day. Went to ride it today and noted it was making a strange buzzing noise and it won’t turn on. Now we are afraid it’s going to explode. Any suggestions?!

The one thing someone noticed was if you unscrew under the display…there are wires that connect directly to it and when I first purchased it they were not plugged in! After someone plugged it in and I charged it, it worked fine. However it happened again so I did the same thing well I must have screwed until the display because now it won't go very fast and there's a line on the display. So be very careful if you take it apart and put it back together. I'm very disappointed with this scooter and I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it!

Ours says E2 on LED screen. What does this mean?

The throttle on mine stops working. I have to turn it of and on again for it to start working for a couple of yards, then it stops working again…

With the E2 code and them not starting up, try to unscrew the display and see if the wires came unplugged!! That's what my sons did. I plugged them back in and charged it then it worked! But be careful screwing back in so you dont hit the display! Our scooter wont go fast any more. It barely goes. This company is ripping ppl off and getting away with it! They're getting money for selling junk!

Just bought one a couple of days ago worked perfectly fine first day. This morning riding home I was going at 13 mph and it stopped suddenly. Now the screen is stuck at 13 mph doesnt want to turn off or restart. When I turn the lights off the scooter keeps making this noise and the only way it'll stop is if I turn the head lights on

I think y’all just need to try to return it! I tried emailing the company first … it took a week or so and then they finally responded back requesting pics and more info. I responded and another couple weeks goes by with absolutely nothing. We decided to just return it and a couple days ago they finally responded that they do would forward it to the tech department and get back to me yet again. Ummm no thanks!! Return it while you can! By the time they get back to me it’s likely to be out of warranty!! Horrible customer service!

Mine I have rode 3 times and now it turns on but throttle won't engage back tire. It was full charged and died instantly after a 2km ride around. Didn't charge and it showed full battery the next day but would not turn on when pushing it back home the other day.

Same issue is happening to me, the scooter powers up with full power, however, the wheels are not rotating fully and not responding to the throttle switch. Eventually it just cuts off as if it dies. Smh. What a piece of $@$*! I bought 2 of them and they both are doing the exact same thing.

steering will not turn toward the right

I fixed the steering by placing the front wheel between my feet and turning the wheel hard to the rig;ht. then I checked the steering by turning the steering wheel to the left and to the right.

My son is having the same problem E2 showing and having problems with speed especially in high gear. I understand this has to do with the accelerator which I am assuming is the throttle. Anyone have a fix. Going to work on it tomorrow to check for loose wires etc. Try resetting. Hopefully something with work. He has only used it 4 times. SUCKS I can’t even find a part number for the throttle.

The throttle will not engage to run motor even with kick start. E4 shows on display. That means that the mos is bad correct. Can that be fixed with reset. If so then how to reset it..

My son's hover one folding electric scooter was not working. I took the thrott le off and checked all the wires and when I put the throttle back on I loosened it up a little bit and it's been working fine ever since. Hopefully It will stay that way

If you type in hover one manuals you can find out a lot of information for the type of hover one you have. Not sure this will help for any of you people having issues but it's worth a shot

I bought this scooter (Hover -1) I rode it lightly, probably under two hours; in the two months time span of owning it. I rode it yesturday, put it on the charger that night. Woke up, tried to start it up, not turning on, can’t believe the scooter doesn’t turn on.

The charger cord shows green, as if it’s fully charged. I’m at a lost for words. Very disappointed, stay away from this company and there products.

Tighten the steering, cause every little bump on the sidewalk adjusted it. Kinda like when you stand with the bike tire between your legs and you can spin the handlebars. Well I thought I fixed it. It was tight. No. It's completely worse. The whole shaft rotates. And I probably should have needed stitches during my fall on the way back from the store. Rip $200

So um, has anyone tried cutting off the shrink wrap to check the connectors under the display? You can gain access by removing 4 Philips head screws on the bottom half of the control bar flip the scooter or lay down and look up if you can't find them. Also use delicate care when putting the screws back in. One way to avoid stripping the soft plastic is by turning the screw left until you feel it fall in the threads then ribhten them by hand and they don't need to be touqued so go easy ok. Insinde you will find 5 plugs wrapped in probably black shrink tubbeing.

just cut allinr off the tubbeing btw do not cur the wires or you got another issue to fix. anyway on mine not 1 of them was snug. I noticed flicking the wires cut the power. This would do such things and give false readings of faulty parts. So whoever did the display assembly installment was probably lazy. But the plugs are also $@$* quality. This isn't something any customer should have to do on a $300 scooter or any scooter for that matter so I do see a case here if we can get enough people to join in and would like some well call itᕦ(ಠ_ಠ)ᕤ

Add me to the class action lawsuit! We have the Pioneer, bought it on Black Friday from Walmart (ugh), my kid used it intermittently maybe a total of 5 times since then. First, the battery won't charge to 100%. Once it hits 3 full bars, it stops charging. Secondly, my son was saying the unit would stop at random times. Upon testing it out for myself, I confirmed the unit turned completely off when I hit 9 mph speed. All of these complaints are truly sad. These poor kids (and parents!) Shame on Hover-1.

E6 error means the Brake grip on the handle bars is bad. It needs to be replaced but I can’t locate any parts to replace it.

You can take it apart and see if you can fix it. Mine had a cut cable.

I have had mine for literally 90 day’s right after their warranty expired and it stopped working completely!! I paid a lot of money to get 3 months out of it. It will power on but will no move, there is a lot of resistance in the front motor so it appears to have failed. There has to be a class action lawsuit started for this pos.

Is there anyone who knows why my Hover-1 Alpha shuts off when it is cold outside? When it is warm out it runs great but when I leave work at 3:30 AM it only goes about 10 minutes before the electric shuts down and wont come back on until the next day after it warms up. The thing is that it’s only down to 50 degrees. Is there a sensor that needs to be replaced and can you tell me where it is located?

So I hit a bump really hard and now it is flashing E9 is there any way to reset it or what can I do

I need help, my scooter was working fine until yesterday and today. Yesterday, the throttle was being very spotty and I felt like the entire handlebar wasn’t exactly as stiff as before and I could twist it forward and backward, I was able to get it to go when I twisted it a certain way. Today, I tried using it today and no matter how I manipulate the handlebars. It doesn’t go. The brake and headlights are working but the throttle just won’t go. And I can see on the screen the icon is lit up where it says the handlebars are not all the way screwed in when they are.

I have the perfect solution to all these problems that seem to be following the Hover 1 Alpha scooter.

Here is what I did….. I sent it back to them with a detailed note on where they can store the P.O.S. scooter. I will get my $400.00 back and invest in an E-Bike. I don’t believe a toy should be this much trouble. Good luck to all of you.

E9 REPAIR error code .. if your scooter has a flashing rear brake light. IF the displays SHOWS E9 then you have a bad brake lever switch. Look just under your brake lever and there is a white plastic piece find some way to keep that in and code will be gone..

While riding the scooter my 12 yr old daughter said the front wheel locked & caused her to crash. After the fall the front wheel would not turn & now it doesn't take a charge. I too have reached out to the company but no one has replied to my emails, tickets, phone calls. The Hover 1 Eagle scooter work well until this happened, and hasn't worked since. We had 6 months before the wheel lock malfunction. Still no contact from the company

This is the second one we have owned. Bought the first Hover 1 Eagle for Christmas 2020. Used twice threw a code. Contacted hover no answer. Contacted Walmart returned old and got a new one because it was only within 2 weeks. Has had no problems until today threw code E2. Not even going to try and contact Hover no point. I see that it is an accelerator problem or throttle issue. Will try and take apart to see if any loose wires.

Bought the dynamo for my kids and one of them doesn't go over 7mph. And when its on the 1 it goes by itself

I had a hover 1 with the stiff front wheel and error code. No support from after sales, no replacement parts available so just bought a 36v controller and display off Amazon.

Works a treat and no longer has the hover 1 brand internals that you cannot buy or replace.

Controller needs to be put in a small stem/handlebar bag because you can't buy the shape of the original to put in the stem

Hello. I have a hover 1 journey electric scooter and the throttle lever is very stiff. When I press it down to go, it won’t come back up. It stays down causing me not being able to stop. What should I do?

The first thing I would try if you get an error code is to remove the handle bar from the stem, disconnect the main electrical connection, blow on each side of it to remove any water and/or dust, and reassemble. The diagnostic system doesn’t seem to be very robust.

I just bought this scooter used and the wiring to the throttle was all taped up and today the throttle wiring came unplugged and I don’t know which wires to connect to which the throttle has three wires red white and black but they wer connected to four wires which are two brown and two orange can anyone help me please ?

Bought from Best Buy, 3 months later neck assembly broke while riding. I now have a plate and 5 screws in my ankle!!! Would like to repair, but can’t find replacement part, or get customer support to respond! Good smooth ride, poor quality in folding lock, broke a week after purchase so I locked it with hose clamp. Then internal neck broke from bottom clamp.

Anyhow-the steering wont steer it seems like when I turn the Handlebars that the wheel will not turn with me so it's kind of slipping it seems. problem: I have a hover-1 Blackhawk. Scooter wheel starts to turn the moment power is on. Turned cruise control off but problem still persists. I believe it is an issue with the throttle. I have been opened up several tickets to no avail. I have been trying to find spare parts but they are not available. I ordered a throttle from ebay but it came with 3 wires rather than 5. So I was riding down hill and throttle at max so 25kmh then when I went to brake I couldn't brake, the e scooter brake was not working so i turned off the scooter and pulled into a parking lot, then I turned it on and when I pressed the throttle I went to max speed and I was stuck at it and the throttle was not physically at its max state pulled back, like the computer was failing so failed brakes and weired acceleration, any tips or something to help because I nearly lost my life and had to jump off the scooter, this is not ok even considering this is not the top range scooter this was a hover 1 highlander, Thanks.

Is the brake/rear light supposed to work? I just bought one for my son for Christmas, and the rear lights does not come on. However--it appears as if it should...including wires to it. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
