Unexpected wheel movement and balance issues
When riding Eclipse it spins, won't balance, shakes, stops abruptly, or won’t turn properly.
The Eclipse is not calibrated
The Eclipse needs to know which way is up in order to move around smoothly. Power off the Eclipse and set it on a flat surface. Orient both floor mats so they are even and facing upwards. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds, during which the Eclipse and the battery indicator light will turn on. After that, turn the Eclipse off and then on again, and then press the power button twice. Your Eclipse is now calibrated.
The battery has reached critical levels
When the Eclipse’s battery levels are too low to function, the Eclipse will stop abruptly. Charge the Eclipse until full battery and then continue riding.
The Eclipse was obstructed during riding
When the wheels are blocked or the Eclipse itself tilts too far, the Eclipse will stop and power off for safety reasons. After this happens, you must turn the Eclipse on again.
Bluetooth connectivity issues
You try to connect to the Eclipse’s Bluetooth to listen and stream music and it fails.
Automatic pairing failure
If your automatic pairing to your device doesn’t pair once the Eclipse is turned on, you may need to reconnect your device. *See below*
Pairing failure
When you turn the Eclipse on to pair, make sure your pairing device is within a 3-foot range after you hear a “ping” noise. Check if Bluetooth is enabled on your pairing device. Once you are in range, and your pairing device’s Bluetooth is enabled, navigate your device to find other available Bluetooth devices. Your Eclipse will be discoverable as ‘HY-ECL’ and a pin may be required, ‘000000’ to confirm access. Once completed, your Eclipse will notify you by saying “paired.” This process may take a few moments when becoming discoverable by the pairing device and finally pairing your device.
Eclipse not powering on
Once you press the power button, the eclipse does not turn on.
The Eclipse is not charged
Check the battery indicator light located in the middle of the Eclipse. Check what each color indicates below:
Green light: Eclipse is fully charged
Yellow light: Eclipse is charging
Red flashing light and beeping: Eclipse has low battery
If the indicator light is red, plug your Eclipse in for a few hours to ensure it is fully charged.
The Eclipse is not charging properly
Check the charging guide below.
The battery is not working properly
If your charger is working properly and your Eclipse is charged, the problem might be the battery. The best next step is to check if your battery has the correct voltage.
- Locate Battery
- Unscrew shell covering the battery
- Check voltage using a voltmeter. It must be between 36 and 42 volts.
Indicator lights not working properly
In order to prompt the user to attend to the device in some way, the indicator light will turn red, or in some cases, an alarm will ding. These could mean...
You are riding on an unsafe riding surface
Either something too steep or unstable. Do not ride the Eclipse until a safer surface is found.
The battery is low
The battery is going to die soon, and you must charge your Eclipse.
You are going too fast
Slow your roll, speed racer.
The Eclipse is overheating
This could be due to external temperatures or the engine overheating. Either way, power off the Eclipse and bring to a cool or room-temperature area until it cools down.
Eclipse not charging properly
The Eclipse is plugged in using the given charger but is not charging.
Faulty charger
If you’ve plugged in your charger and the light on the charger is green, it should turn red when you’ve plugged in the board. If the light is not turning on, then your charger is broken. If the light is not turning red, the motherboard of the Eclipse is faulty and can be replaced by following the guide linked here.
Bent charging port pins
If the prongs on the Eclipse are bent or broken, they can be replaced following the guide here.
