Stick Vacuum Will Not Turn On
Vacuum battery may be dead or insufficiently charged. Turn power off and connect to the charger for a period of 24 hours to ensure battery is charged enough to run.
Stick Vacuum Not Running
First make sure you have charged your device. If the vacuum still will not turn on after that, try to unplug the vacuum charger from the outlet. Leave the charger unplugged for at least 1-2 minutes. Next, turn on the stick vacuum and let run until the battery completely drains. Lastly, place the vacuum back onto the charger and allow it to charge for 24 hours. After completing these steps, the device should have a run time of 12-15 minutes.
Thermal Protector Turned On and Shut Stick Vacuum Off
If the machine gets too hot, a thermal protector will kick in and shut the vacuum off to keep from overheating. Should this happen, the power must be turned off, the dust canister emptied, the filter cleaned and any potential obstructions removed. After about 30 minutes the vacuum can be turned back on as it takes about 30 minutes for the motor to cool and the thermal protector to deactivate.
Poor Battery Life
On a full 16 hour charge the unit should run between 12-15 minutes. Sometimes it may be necessary to reset the battery. In order to do this, run the unit completely down, unplug the charger for 1-2 minutes, then charge for a complete 24 hours.
Hand Vacuum Not Running
My hand vacuum is not turning on or dies immediately.
Hand Vacuum Will Not Turn On
Ensure Hand Vacuum is turned off before charging. Press the power button a second time, then place in charger for a period of 24 hours before turning back on.
Full Dust Container
Check to see if the dust container in the Hand Vac is full. When the container is filled it may not run correctly. Push the power button off if the Hand Vac device is on. Empty the dust container over a trash can by pressing the release button located near the handle. Secure dust container back onto Hand Vac body once it has been emptied.
Low or No Suction
When I use my vacuum it barely picks up anything. The suction has become very poor.
Clogged Nozzle
The airway in your vacuum nozzle may be clogged. To release the nozzle from the Stick Vacuum, press the large white button located on the lower half of the Stick Vacuum. This is the release button and will disconnect the nozzle so you may easily remove the obstruction.
Dirt Cup is Full
Your dirt cup may be full from vacuuming. In order to empty it, release the Hand Vac from the Stick Vac by pressing the gray release button located near the handle of the Hand Vac. Once it is removed, pull the dust container off the motor unit. Make sure you keep it pointed downwards over the trash so dust does not fall everywhere.
Dirty Filter
Your filter may be dirty, this can make it difficult for the vacuum to suck up debris. In order to clean the filter you must release the Hand Vac from the Stick Vac using the gray release bottom located on the Hand Vac. Pull off the dust container from the motor unit. Remove the cyclonic separator, the filter is located behind it. Rinse the filter with water and let dry for 24 hours before you place it back into your vacuum.
If suction is still low or dust keeps escaping from the vacuum a replacement filter may need to be purchased.
Stick Vac Failing to Pick Up Dirt or Dust
The Rotating Brush Roll, located in the head of the Stick Vac may have retained too much debris. Detach the Stick Vac from the Hand Vac and separate the head of the vacuum by pressing the release button. Remove the Rotating Brush Roll manually and clean with your hands by brushing off or shaking. Do not apply water to the Rotating Brush Roll as a means of cleaning it.
Hand Vac Failing to Pick Up Dirt or Dust
Similar to the Stick Vac, there is a filter located in the Hand Vac. To clean this filter, separate the Stick Vac and the Hand Vac. Remove the plastic dust container from the main body of the Hand Vac to access the filter. Inside the gray plastic compartment is the HEPA filter. Shake or gently brush the filter over a trash container to clean the filter and free it of any obstructions.
Charger Not Working
I charged my vacuum for hours, but it still won't turn on. I think the charger has stopped working.
Charger Has No Power
Unplug the charger for 60 seconds. Run the vacuum until it completely shuts off and re-charge for 24 hours. Device should have a run time between 10-12 minutes. Always make sure your Stick Vac and Hand Vac are turned off before charging them.
Brush Roll Will Not Rotate
When I go to vacuum, there is no suction because the brush roll is not rotating.
Material is Caught in Brush Roll
The brush roll may not be able to rotate because there is material caught in its path. , First ensure vacuum is off and then lay the entire vacuum down on it's back. Check the brush roll and see if something is obstructing it's bath. Pull the material out of it. If brush roll needs to be taken out to remove the material, please refer to Rotating Brush Roll Replacement Guide. If hair is caught in the brush roll carefully cut it out with a pair of scissors. Be careful as to not cut the brush roll.

I'm going to try the suggestion listed above under “Poor Battery Life" and hope that works. If it doesn't, the next step is checking into a replacement battery which is not available for some brands of small cordless vacs.

I recently bought the hoover air cordless 2 in 1, and charged the battery to a full charge,
and the hand vac works perfectly, yet the stick will not turn on. I have never been able to use it, and can not understand what is wrong. I had wrote to Hoover, who said sounds like the dirt cup! (?) and battery is not fully charged. So, I recharged battery to a full charge and still no power in the stick. Only the hand vac. Please advise.

My Hoover Cruise Cordless 2in1 Light Weight Vacuum MODEL #BH52230 will not turn on & will not charge. When I press the “power on” button nothing happens at all, when I plug it into the charger the Power Button Flashes Red & White several times. Even allowing it to charge for 24hrs, then for several days undisturbed it does the same thing never does the green light turn on to indicate it is charging. I can not find the proper users manual online. It will say the correct name & model # even show the correct picture but when I scroll down to try and trouble shoot the issue it is the wrong vacuum in the diagrams that shows the handheld part where the battery is with a push button battery release mine does not have this feature mine requires a tamper proof screw driver to access the battery. Can anyone help me?

I think Hoover cordless impulse vacuum are made bad. After trying to charge mine over 24 hrs it will only turn on for couple of seconds then stop working. When I plugged it to charge, the cordless vacuum that usually showing the light bars showing going up and down its not showing its charging at all. Either the vacuum is not taking charge or the charger went bad and I only got this Hoover Cordless Vacuum 3 months ago not even using it heavily. Is this how long they last?

My Hoover cordless cruiser vacuum when I put the battery in. It Continues to run even if it’s on charger
vickiejones931 - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
It’s not the battery. It’s the contacts with the charger that is the problem. It charges just fine sometimes and then not at all.
