Your Chromebook will not turn on when the power button is pressed.

Make sure the battery is fully charged. If the battery will not charge, the internal battery may need to be replaced. To see how to replace the internal battery click here.

If the power adapter is plugged into an outlet but the lights are not turning on, there is a possibility that the adapter may need to be replaced.

Your Chromebook is too hot after short usage and will not cool down.

First make sure there is nothing blocking the fan and that it is on a flat surface. If it continues to overheat, the internal fan may be blocked by dust or broken. If it is blocked by dust it will need to be removed and cleaned. If it is broken, you will have to replace it. Consult this iFixit manual to find out how to access and remove the fan from your laptop.

If you do not want to replace the fan, another option is to invest in a laptop cooler. These provide additional cooling when you use the correct one. There are many types of laptop coolers and in order to purchase the right one, you need to know how your laptop fan functions and purchase the correct laptop cooling type.

You have trouble listening to sounds on your Chromebook.

If sound is not coming out or sound is distorted, there is a possibility that your audio jack has dirt or dust inside. To clean you can get a plastic or wooden toothpick and clean out the dust.

The audio jack may not be the problem but instead your headphones. Before taking anything apart, make sure you test the audio jack with a for sure working pair of headphones, and also double check that your volume is turned up on the laptop.

If your headphones are still producing distorted audio or no audio at all after trying with good headphones, cleaning out the audio jack, and turning the volume up, your audio jack may be broken. To replace a broken audio jack, follow the guide here.

Chromebook turns on, but won't run start up procedure.

It is possible that the RAM is either damaged or is not efficient to run the current amount of operations. Since the RAM is attached to the motherboard, the motherboard will have to be replaced.

If the ram is properly installed, the problem may be with the hard drive itself. To test this issue, it is possible to boot the computer through a USB with the Chromebook OS recovery tool installed. To learn to do this, follow the official guide located here. This will allow the OS to boot through the USB and hopefully resolve the issue. Keys on the computer are not working properly.

The entire keyboard is unresponsive so you may need to remove the keyboard and membrane to see if the problem is just one key. If the entire keyboard is faulty, you can see how to replace or repair it here.
