Device Will Not Connect To WIFI
Device fails to hold a connection with any wifi signal.
There are many issues that may cause you to be unable to connect to wifi. The link provided here is provided by the device manufacturer for in depth troubleshooting steps.
Check Wireless Signal
First, check to to see if the wifi icon in your system settings is turned on and airplane mode is turned off. If you are still not connected to wifi, try connecting to a different frequency band (many consumer wifi's have a 2.4 GHz and a 5 GHz).
Restart Modem and Wireless Router
The steps taken to restart your modem and router can vary and may depend on your wifi provider, but here are the general steps. Unplug the modem and router, wait for 30 seconds. Then plug the modem and router back into the power source. Wait for the lights on the modem and router to stop blinking, this may take up to several minutes.
Out of Date Operating System/Drivers
Check for Operating system/device driver updates. Please refer to HP PCs - Downloading or updating software and drivers for instructions on how to resolve this issue.
Wi-Fi Card Failure
The Wi-Fi card needs to be replaced.
Device Will Not Power On
Device fails to power on.
The Device is Not Fully Charged
Plug in the device charger, and to confirm the device is charging, look for the light located on the right side, next to the charge port. If the light does not turn on, ensure the outlet is working by plugging in a different device.
Device Needs a Hard Reset
First, remove everything connected to the laptop. Next, open the laptop and remove the battery. Then, hold the power button or 30 seconds. Finally, reinstall the battery and plug-in device charger, turn the device on.
Faulty Charger
Check for the light located on the right-hand side next to the charge port. No light, check to ensure the outlet is functioning. If you have another device that uses the same charger, see if that device will charge. Replace the charger.
Faulty Charging Port
Check for the light located on the right-hand side next to the charge port. No light, check to ensure the outlet is functioning. Ensure the charger is working. Replace the charge port.
Faulty Battery
Remove Battery. Plug in device charger. See if the device turns on; if yes, you will want to replace your faulty battery.
Not able to view images on the screen
Device turns on but the screen remains black

Device Needs A Hard Reset
Press the power button to turn the device off, then remove any charging cables. Then remove the battery, and, once that is done, press the power button for 15 seconds. Plug the charger back in, but do not put the battery back in. Turn the laptop back on.
BIOS Needs to Be Recovered
Plug in the charger, then turn the device off. Press and hold the B and windows keys at the same time, and then, while continuing to press the other keys, press the power button for one second. Release all three of the keys at the same time. After 40 seconds, the BIOS screen should show up.
Faulty RAM
Remove the charger, then turn the laptop off. Replace the RAM.
Display Assembly is Faulty or Damaged
If you've made sure everything else is okay, it may be that the display assembly needs to be replaced.
Device Runs Slowly
Device is not running at previously observed speeds.
Not Enough Storage
Delete files from drives (and) move to an external storage device or cloud storage service. Please refer to this guide when transferring files from the HP 14-dq0051dx to an external drive. If you choose to delete files instead of moving them please refer to this guide on how to delete a file.
Too Many Programs Running
Close any programs/internet tabs you’re not using. Open task manager checks CPU and RAM usage. You can try sorting by CPU/Ram usage and terminate any programs using too much.
Too Many Programs at Startup
Open task manager then click on “More details”. Next click on “Startup” and disable any programs you don’t regularly use from enabling on startup.
Device has (a) virus/malware
Run a scan and delete anything flagged as suspicious. Refer to this guide for specific instructions.
Computer Has Been Running For Too Long
Open the start menu, click on the power icon and restart the computer. Or, hold down the power button and reboot the computer.
Out of Date Operating system/drivers

Hard Drive or SSD is Full
The hard drive needs to be replaced or upgraded.
Faulty RAM
The RAM may need to be replaced or upgraded.
Keys Are Unresponsive
Keys on the keyboard are not responding when pressed.
Keyboard is Locked
Press and hold the right shift button for eight seconds to unlock the keyboard.
Software Error has Occurred
First, remove everything connected to the laptop. Next, open the laptop and remove the battery. Then, hold the power button or 30 seconds. Finally, reinstall the battery and plug-in device charger, turn the device on.
External Keyboard is Still Connected
First, go to your settings and then open the Bluetooth section. Next, you will disconnect any external keyboards that may be connected to the laptop. Lastly, power off any external keyboards nearby so they do not automatically connect to the device.
Hardware Malfunction
The keyboard needs to be replaced.
