No matter what you do, the camera doesn't turn on
Bad battery
Make sure the battery is installed in the camera correctly and is fully charged. Refer to our guide for replacing the battery.
Slots aren't closed
The camera won’t turn on if either the battery compartment cover or the card slot is open. Make sure these two slots are closed.
LCD broken
The camera may seem to be off because the display isn't working. Try pressing the shutter button and listening for the camera to make a sound to make sure the display is broken and not something else. If the issue persists, you can follow this guide to replace it.
Motherboard problems
A component on the motherboard may have come loose or broken entirely. Refer to this guide for replacing the motherboard.
Camera turns off by itself
The camera turns off for seemingly no reason
Auto power off
The auto power off feature is activated in order to increase the battery life of the camera. If you do not want auto power off activated, set it to “disable” in the settings menu.
Bad battery
Make sure the battery is installed in the camera correctly and is fully charged if battery problems persist follow this guide to replace it.
Images cannot be shot or recorded
The camera won’t take pictures when the shutter button is pressed
Memory card not properly inserted
Correctly insert a memory card into the slot on the camera.
Write-protect switch
Some memory cards come equipped with a write-protect switch. Make sure it is in the Write/Erase position.
Bad battery
Make sure the battery is installed in the camera correctly and is fully charged.
Lens cap in the way
Take the lens cap off the front of the camera.
Memory card is full
The memory card may be filled with pictures and video. If the card is full, replace the card with a different one or delete unnecessary images to make room.
Mirror stuck
The mirror may be stuck open or closed. Check for obstructions that may be causing this.
Motherboard problems
A component on the motherboard may have come loose or broken entirely. Refer to this guide for replacing the motherboard.
Built-in flash does not fire
Even though it is dark, the camera's flash does not operate
Continuous shooting
Triggering the flash multiple times in rapid succession will fully discharge the capacitor. If the flash isn't responding, just wait a few seconds between shots. If using an auxiliary flash, this limitation can be mitigated with the use of an external battery pack or AC adapter.
Flash micro switch is stuck
There is a small switch located at the top of the camera that is pressed when an auxiliary switch is attached. This switch may have gotten stuck at some point. If this is the case, a toothpick or a small screwdriver can be used to lift the switch back up.
Flash circuitry is burned out
After a lot of use, the circuitry for the flash may have burned out. In this case, the flash mechanism itself will need to be replaced. Refer to this guide for replacing the flash.
Movie shooting stops by itself
While recording a movie, the camera stops recording without reason
Camera has been recording for too long
If the move shooting time reaches 29 minutes and 59 seconds, the camera will automatically stop recording. Just start recording again to continue shooting.
Memory card is full
The memory card may be filled with pictures and video. If the card is full, replace the card with a different one or delete unnecessary images to make room.
Memory card is too slow
The memory card you are using my be too slow for the high definition footage the camera is recording. Make sure that you are using a SD speed class 6 or faster.
Touch screen is inoperable
The touch screen is on, but does not respond when you press on it
Touch screen is disabled
It is possible to turn off touch control in order to save battery life. To enable it again, go to settings and make sure "Enable" is set with "Touch control".
