Headphones Not Connecting for Use in Windows Applications
Your headphones are pairing to your Windows device, but you are not sending or receiving audio from them
Headphones are Not Paired or Connected to the Device
Make sure that the headphones are connected to the device you are using. In Windows, you can check this by going into Bluetooth settings. To find Bluetooth settings, open the action panel at the bottom right of the screen, then click on “Bluetooth”. Confirm that Bluetooth is on and that the headphones are paired to the device. If the headphones are not paired, you can pair them by these following steps. First, when the headphones are powered off, press and hold the power button for five seconds until the LED flashes blue to enter pairing mode. Then, from your Windows device, select “Soundcore Life Q30” to pair to. If you have already paired the headphones to a different device and wish to pair them to the Windows device at the same time using the multipoint function, instead of holding the power button while the headphones are off, press the power button twice.
Headphones are Not Being Used by the Application
It is possible that the headphones are not set to be used by the application. To correct this, first open the sound settings in Windows. Here, check that your headphones are set as the input and output device. Next, open the sound control panel. Here, set your headphones as the default playback device and default recording device. Next will depend on the application, but it will follow a similar process for most apps. Go into the settings for your app. From here, find audio, voice and video, or a similar section. From here, find the input and output settings. Set your headphones as both the input and output. This should resolve the issue.
Sound Louder in One Ear
The sound in one ear of the headphones is louder than the other or only coming out of one ear
Headphones Must be Reset
You might need to reset your headphones if you are experiencing sound issues. First, disconnect and “forget” the headphones on your device. Next, press the power button and volume up button at the same time and hold for 5 seconds. The LED indicator will flash blue and red two times. Connect the headphones again and see if this resolves the issue.
Firmware Needs to be Updated
If this does not work, connect the headphones to another device. The problem may be with your device opposed to the headphones. If this does not solve the problem, you’ll need to download the Soundcore app from the app store on your mobile device. Open the app store and search “Soundcore.” Click on the Soundcore app and click the download button. Once downloaded, connect your headphones through the app by selecting “+ Add Device” and following the steps given. You can change the EQ settings through the app to manage the audio of your headphones. The app will also notify you of any firmware updates. Update the firmware on your headphones through the app and see if it fixes the problem.
Headphone Driver Must be Replaced
If all else fails, you can replace the headphone driver using the Headphone Driver Replacement Guide.
Multipoint Not Connecting Properly
You are experiencing connectivity problems and function issues
Headphones Must be Reset
You may need to reset your headphones if you experience any connectivity and function issues. To do so, press and hold the power button and volume up button for approximately five seconds until the LED indicator flashes blue and red twice. This will reset the headphones and remove all their paired devices. You should also “forget” the headphones on devices it was previously connected to before proceeding. Once you have successfully connected to the first device, you can continue to connect to your second device to use the multipoint functionality. Press the power button twice to pair with your second device. The headphones can only connect to two devices at a time using this, and it can only play audio from one device at a time. If you turn the headphones off and back on, it will now connect automatically to the last device used within its range.
Headphones Will Not Pair to Device
Your headphones are not pairing to the device you are trying to connect
Headphones Must be Reset
Resetting the headphones should fix any pairing issue caused by the headphones themselves. First, disconnect and “forget” the headphones on your device. Next, press the power button and volume up button at the same time and hold for 5 seconds. The LED indicator will flash blue and red two times. Put the headphones into pairing mode, and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on in the device you are trying to connect. Then, select the headphones from the device’s Bluetooth menu to pair. If there is still an issue, it is most likely caused by the device you are trying to pair the headphones with.
Volume Setting Changing when Connecting to a Different Device
The headphone volume is reset back to its highest setting when you change the device it is connected to
Firmware Needs Updating
This is caused by a firmware issue that has now been fixed by Soundcore. You will need to update your headphones to fix the issue. To update your headphones, first you’ll need to download the Soundcore app from the app store on your mobile device. Once you have the app downloaded, connect your headphones to the mobile device and open the app. From there, the app will prompt you to install an update to your headphones. Updating them will resolve the issue.
Noise Cancelling Not Working
Adaptive audio is disabled and there’s a loss in bass sound
Headphones Must be Reset
You might need to reset your headphones if you are experiencing noise cancelling issues. First, disconnect and “forget” the headphones on your device. Next, press the power button and volume up button at the same time and hold for 5 seconds. The LED indicator will flash blue and red two times. Connect the headphones again and see if this resolves the issue.
Broken Headphone Driver
Check the driver for any damage or any built up debris, and clean it out. If this doesn’t work, replace the headphone driver by following the Soundcore Life Q30 Headphone Driver Replacement Guide.
Faulty Battery
The battery may not be producing the necessary output to activate noise cancelling through the headphones. The battery needs to be replaced following the Soundcore Life Q30 Battery Replacement Guide.
