Troubleshooting
For information concerning common troubleshooting issues, refer to Lenovo Flex 11 Chrombook is Lagging or Freezing or Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook Touchpad Stiff or Unresponsive
Background
Released April 2017, the Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook za27, is a versatile ultraportable 2-in-1 device with a 360-degree hinge, allowing the device to be a laptop and tablet. The za27 model features a 11.6-in HD IPS touchscreen, supporting 10 finger multi-touch, and runs on Google Chrome.
Originally sold at ~$300-$400, this Chromebook does not have public record regarding manufactured and sold units; however, the intended market audience was education sectors, so most likely these Chromebooks were sold in bulks to schools and districts. This Chromebook was known to be affordable and accessible to students.
Since the release of the Chromebook, most common components to malfunction are the ac adapter failing, the touchscreen/ touchpad stops working or stiffens, battery not charging properly, display screen flickering, and/or the hinges loosen. Despite these issues, this Chromebook was built for durability, making the keyboard water resistant to ~1 cup of liquid and drop resistant up to the height of ~24 feet.
Unfortunately, the Flex 11 Chromebook reached the Auto Update Expiration date in June 2025, but there are currently no recalls for this Chromebook.
- Replaced by the Lenovo N23 Yoga Chromebook and features a more durable and rigged design.
- The Lenovo Chromebook C330 repleaced the flex 11 series with an improved 64 GB storage, but the compacted 11-in convertible stayed consistent.
Identification

When opening the Chromebook, you can easily identify the flex series by finding the Lenovo logo on the left side of the screen, and Flex 11 on the right side.
