Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook is Lagging or Freezing
Chromebook is acting slow or gets stuck while working.
Too many tabs, apps, and/or extensions open
With Chromebooks limited capacity on storage in RAM, it will be unable to keep up with multiple tabs, apps and extensions all at once, quickly consuming the available RAM leading to system lag or freezes. To fix this issue, close unused tabs, apps, and extensions.
Chrome may be outdated and needs to be updated to the newest version of ChromeOS
ChromeOS needs to stay up to date to work properly. Find the “O” in the left corner of the Home Screen and wait for the app launcher to pop up. To download and install any available software updates click on Settings > About ChromeOS > Check for Updates.
System memory or storage is critically low
If the device is nearly full or running out of RAM, it will struggle to run efficiently and effectively, causing general slowdowns and freezes.
Ways to fix low storage or system memory:
- Delete unnecessary files by going to ‘Files’ app > Downloads Folder
- Remove and uninstall apps you do not use - go to Settings > Device > Storage management to see the list of apps on your Chromebook.
- Clear browsing data by opening Chrome and click on the three dots icon at the top right. Navigate to Settings > Privacy and security > Delete browsing data. Choose the time range and the specific data types you wish to delete, then click “Delete data.”
- Use Google drive as it provides cloud storage rather than taking up the devices’ limited storage space.
- Remove extra users by deleting their user accounts.
