This is a common issue with replacement parts. Unfortunately, due to some of the manufacturers of these parts, corners are cut, and so the part most likely doesn't work. Although it may have worked for a time. How long ago did you do the repair? I would recommend contacting the place that you purchased it from, and see if they can replace it for you.
