  • Only the logic board remains.

  • If your iMac is equipped with the Fusion Drive option, you will also need to remove the SSD from the back side of the logic board and transfer it to your new logic board. Remove the SSD by following these steps.

  • The logic board includes the PRAM battery. If your replacement logic board does not include the battery, you can transfer the battery over from your old logic board by following these steps.

  • When reassembling your iMac, remove the CPU from the heat sink and reinstall it separately from the heat sink. This will make sure it's installed correctly and prevent damage.

  • Follow our thermal paste application guide to reapply the thermal paste to the graphics processor (GPU). You should also replace the thermal compound or apply thermal pads to the VRAM chips.

  • During reassembly of the logic board, pay attention to the position of the I/O connectors. When the board is back in the case, insert a USB or Thunderbolt cable into one of the connectors to align it perfectly.

Enkel het moederbord blijft over.

Als je iMac een Fusion Drive bevat, zul je de SSD van de achterkant van het moederbord moeten verwijderen en naar je nieuwe moederbord over moeten zetten. Verwijder de SSD met behulp van deze handleiding.

Het moederbord bevat de PRAM-batterij. Als je nieuwe moederbord geen PRAM-batterij bevat, zul je deze over moeten zetten van je oude naar je nieuwe moederbord. Hiervoor kun je deze handleiding gebruiken.

Verwijder bij het weer in elkaar zetten van je iMac de CPU van het koellichaam en plaats de CPU los van het koellichaam terug. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de CPU op de juiste manier wordt geïnstalleerd en zo voorkom je schade.

Gebruik deze handleiding om te zien hoe je de koelpasta op de GPU vervangt. Zorg ook dat je de thermische compound op de VRAM-chips vervangt of dat je thermische kussens op de VRAM-chips plaatst.

Let goed op de positie van de I/O-poorten bij het plaatsen van het moederbord. Sluit een USB- en/of ethernetkabel op de poorten aan zodat je zeker weet dat het moederbord op de juiste positie komt te zitten.
