  • Only the logic board remains.

  • If your iMac is equipped with the Fusion Drive option, you will also need to remove the SSD from the back side of the logic board and transfer it to your new logic board. Remove the SSD by following these steps.

  • The logic board includes the PRAM battery. If your replacement logic board does not include the battery, you can transfer the battery over from your old logic board by following these steps.

  • When reassembling your iMac, remove the CPU from the heat sink and reinstall it separately from the heat sink. This will make sure it's installed correctly and prevent damage.

  • Follow our thermal paste application guide to reapply the thermal paste to the graphics processor (GPU). You should also replace the thermal compound or apply thermal pads to the VRAM chips.

  • During reassembly of the logic board, pay attention to the position of the I/O connectors. When the board is back in the case, insert a USB or Thunderbolt cable into one of the connectors to align it perfectly.

Il ne reste plus que la carte mère.

Si votre iMac est équipé de l'option Fusion Drive, vous devrez également retirer le SSD de la face arrière de la carte mère et le transférer sur votre nouvelle carte mère. Retirez le SSD en suivant ces étapes.

La carte mère comprend la batterie PRAM. Si la batterie n'est pas incluse dans la carte mère de remplacement, vous pouvez la transférer de votre ancienne carte mère en suivant ces étapes.

Lorsque vous remontez votre iMac, retirez le processeur du dissipateur thermique et réinstallez-le séparément du dissipateur thermique. Vous vous assurerez ainsi qu'il est installé correctement et éviterez tout risque de dommage.

Suivez notre tutoriel d'application de pâte thermique pour réappliquer la pâte thermique sur le processeur graphique (GPU). Vous devez également changer la pâte thermique ou appliquer des freins thermiques sur les puces VRAM.

Lors du remontage de la carte mère, faites attention à la position des connecteurs E/S. Lorsque la carte est de nouveau dans le boîtier, insérez un câble USB ou Thunderbolt dans l'un des connecteurs pour l'aligner parfaitement.
