  • Remove the orange dipstick from under your hood.

  • Wipe the dipstick down with a rag or towel to ensure that you get a true reading.

  • Reinsert the dipstick all the way into its hole, then remove it.

  • The amount of oil on your dipstick determines the oil level. The top of the crosshatched area is the maximum amount of oil you should have, while the bottom of the crosshatching is the minimum.

  • Our oil level appears to be a little high. However, oil has not yet had time to seep into the nooks and crannies of the engine. Start the engine and let it idle for a minute. Turn the engine off and look underneath for leaks. Check the oil again. Now the filter is full of oil, the level should be close to the full mark on the dipstick.

Retirez la jauge orange sous le capot.

Essuyez la jauge vers le bas avec un chiffon ou une serviette pour vous assurer d'obtenir une bonne lecture.

Réinsérer la jauge complètement dans son trou, puis retirez-la.

La quantité d'huile sur votre jauge détermine le niveau d'huile. La partie supérieure de la zone hachurée est la quantité maximale d'huile que vous devriez avoir, tandis que le fond de la hachure est le minimum.

Le niveau d'huile peut sembler trop élevé, l'huile n'a pas eu le temps de passer dans tous les recoins du moteur. Démarrez le moteur et laissez tourner au ralenti une minute. Coupez le moteur et regarder dessous s'il y a des fuites. Vérifiez le niveau d'huile. Si le filtre est plein, le niveau devrait être proche de la marque normale sur la jauge.
