  • Once the oil has slowed to a drip, wipe off the area around the drain plug with a clean rag or towel.

  • Reinstall the drain plug and tighten it with a box end wrench until it is snug. Alternatively, you can use a torque wrench to verify that the plug is tightened to spec. The torque spec for the drain plug is 29 ft./lbs. (39 Nm)

  • Do not over-tighten the drain plug. You may risk stripping the threads or cracking the oil pan. It's better that it be too loose, rather than too tight, because you can always go back later and tighten it. If in doubt, verify the torque using a torque wrench.

Als de olie eenmaal gestopt is met uit de pan druppelen, veeg je het gebied rondom de plug schoon met een schone doek.

Herinstalleer de plug en draai deze strak aan met behulp van een ringsleutel. Als laternatief kun je ook een ratel gebruiken om de plug strak te draaien. De koppel voor de plug is 29ft./lbs (ong. 4 m/kg)

Draai de plug echter niet té strak vast. Hiermee riskeer je namelijk het schroefdraad te strippen of de carterpan te scheuren. Beter net iets te los dan te strak, aangezien je de plug altijd strakker kunt draaien. Als je het niet zeker weet, kun je een ratel gebruiken om onder de max. koppel te blijven.
