  • Always wear protective gloves and eyewear when working with motor oil. Be careful if your car has been running recently as the engine and exhaust may be very hot. Keep rags or towels nearby to wipe up any spills.

  • Use a 17 mm box end wrench to loosen the drain plug 3/4 of a turn.

  • Loosen the drain plug by hand until it comes free and oil begins to drain out of the oil pan.

  • Watch the draining oil for shiny specks. Metal flakes in the oil are a part of normal engine wear—but, an excessive amount of metal flakes could indicate a serious problem. Consider saving your oil and sending a sample to a lab for analysis.

Indossa sempre guanti e occhiali protettivi quando lavori con l'olio motore. Fai attenzione se la tua auto è stata utilizzata da poco poiché il motore e lo scarico potrebbero essere molto caldi. Tieni a portata di mano stracci o asciugamani per pulire eventuali fuoriuscite.

Utilizza una chiave inglese da 17 mm per allentare il tappo di scarico e ruotalo in senso antiorario di 3/4 di giro.

Allenta a mano il tappo di scarico finché l'olio inizia a fuoriuscire dalla coppa dell'olio.

Osserva l'olio esausto nella vasca di raccolta. Minuscole tracce di polvere metallica nell'olio fanno parte della normale usura del motore, ma una quantità eccessiva di polvere metallica potrebbe indicare un problema serio. Se hai dei dubbi, fai verificare il tuo olio esausto ad un esperto.
