Use a plastic opening tool to pry the LCD display off the board.
The screen is held onto the board by two strong adhesive pads. You will need to pry vigorously. Do not be afraid of breaking the board. The screen will come off well before the board snaps.
Removing the trackpad prior to this repair is optional. If you wish to do so, follow this guide for removal instructions.
