Pin on the patch

Position the fabric patch over the hole and pin it in place, ensuring the hole is centered.
Be careful to only pin through one side of the garment, especially if repairing a leg or arm.
Place the pins perpendicular to the patch edges, with the pin heads facing outward for easy removal while sewing on the patch.
