The board is held in by four clips in the case. To reduce the likelihood that they break, a utility knife can be used to trim the clips so they don't need to be bent as far to clear the slots in the board.

Free the board by pulling it gently away from the case while bending the inner pair of clips toward the center of the scale.

When the board has cleared the inner clips, it can be slid out from under the outer clips.
