Follow these assembly directions to put the service wedge together.

Insert the service wedge between the back of the display and the stand.

If you are not using a service wedge, the iMac can shift unexpectedly during the repair. You can complete the repair without it, but the procedure will be easier with an iFixit cardboard service wedge.
