Oil will begin flowing as soon as you unscrew the filter. Be sure to catch all of the oil in the drain pan.

Loosen the oil filter by twisting counter-clockwise. It may be easier to access the oil filter from the top-side of the engine.

If it is too difficult to twist by hand, use an oil filter wrench to loosen it.

Place the removed oil filter in the oil pan.
