Introduction |
| Is your HP Photosmart C309g's printhead clogged, producing streaky output or not printing a certain color, even with new ink cartridges? This guide will show you how to unclog the printhead on this printer. | | | The cleaning steps will work with other printers, but the printhead removal steps and the steps to bypass the printhead initialization are tied to this model and similarly aged 564/920 printers-if you use a HP printer that doesn't use the 564/920 ink cartridges or a different brand printer altogether, read the manual or find a online tutorial to find out how to remove the printhead first. The method for printhead removal should be the same on newer 564 printers, but double check to be sure. The only thing to note is older cartridges will not work on web connected printers-you '''must''' use the updated cartridges since the programming on the new chips is different. I suspect you can install compatible chips or transfer the 564SETUP chips, but with this approach, you will void the warranty if the printer craps out. Chip transfer is extremely risky, since the likelihood of busting the chip is very high on the new cartridges if you have never done it, and you should just tape the new chip over the old one and use the old one as a reference, to make placement easier. | | | HP no longer makes printers with the 920 print cartridge, but this guide may be useful to people with these printers who have them, but don't assume my bypass will work.
