Introduction
Many Acer 15" Chromebooks use the same panel that holds the keyboard and internal components, including the CB3-531 and others.
There are new keyboard-only devices for sale, but replacing them requires melting or otherwise removing many, many plastic retaining spots. That kind of replacement is beyond the scope of this guide, so we'll only be dealing with a replacement that comes with a keyboard + palm rest as a single unit.
