The y000 screw driver is not right. Tip is too long and doesn't engage screw correctly causing them to strip

    Christopher W Warnecke - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

I found I needed to use a Y00 screw for this.

    RashKash103 - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Confirmed the Y00 is what you need for this step.

    • Twist the opening tool to create a gap.

    • Don't try to remove the back cover all the way yet. The sensor flex cable is still connected to the motherboard.

I suggest to work the plastic pry tool between one of the pairs of spurs that hold the wrist bands on. It worked much more easily for me than working at either side of the watch. ~Rufus T. Montgomery

    • Remove the battery.

If possible, turn on your device and test your repair before installing new adhesive and resealing.

Secure the new battery with pre-cut adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape. In order to position it correctly, apply the new adhesive into the device at the places where the old adhesive was located, not directly onto the battery. Press the new battery firmly into place.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

For optimal performance, calibrate your newly installed battery: Charge it to 100% and keep charging it for at least 2 more hours. Then use your device until it shuts off due to low battery. Finally, charge it uninterrupted to 100%.

Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.

What kind of battery does it use?

Dylan - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

The directions are perfect! I had very little issue following your instructions.

One point I would make is that there seems to be more of an available gap to pry the back off of the watch located between the pairs of wristband spurs where there is very little gap on the sides. After almost 20 minutes of trying to get the little plastic tool to work the back off, I looked closely at the area between the spurs and it looked more promising. A couple of probes with the tool, and the the back started right off. The rest is history. Thanks!!!

Is there any adhesive applied for the water resistance while installation of the battery ?

Wasabi - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Instructions are perfect.

Evidence of water damage though in mine, so sprayed the crusty bits with electrical solvent cleaner. Nothing to loose.

It's powered back up with the new battery, so see how long it lasts.

If it gives problems time for a new watch.

Won't be wearing it again in the shower though.

It works better to first heat the watch slightly on the back with a hair dryer in step 3. then the rubber waterproof ring will come loose a bit and you can carefully open it. be careful not to damage the ring.
