Follow this guide to replace the arbor shaft bearings on an EDCO PRO KL-18 walk behind concrete saw model 39600-HD.

Chock the wheels to prevent the machine from moving while you are working on it.

Flip the ignition switches on the motor and the handle bar into their "OFF" positions.

Flip the fuel cutoff valve switch into the off position.

Grab the plastic housing at the end of the spark plug wire.
-
Pull firmly to disconnect the wire from the spark plug.

-
Use a 9/16 inch socket to remove the two bolts securing the belt guard to the main frame.
-

-
Use a 9/16 inch wrench to loosen the lock nut on the belt-tensioner bolt.
-
-
-
Use your finger to spin the lock nut counterclockwise until there is a about a one inch gap between it and the frame.
-
Wrap a piece of tape around the belt-tensioner bolt where it meets the frame.
-
-
-
Use a 9/16 inch socket to remove the belt-tensioner bolt from the frame.
-
-
-
Use a 9/16 inch wrench to remove the nut securing the ground wire to the engine block.
-
-
-
Remove the ground wire and tooth washer from the engine mount.
-
-
-
-
Use a 9/16 inch wrench to loosen the four nuts securing the engine block to the frame, two on the front and two on the back.

-
Slide the engine towards the front of the frame to relieve tension on the belts.
-
-
-
Lift the outermost belt out of its pulley groove and rotate the motor pulley to remove it.
-
Repeat for the two remaining belts.
-
-
-
Place the guide bar onto the ground out of the way of the blade guard.
-
-
-
Lift the blade guide straight up and off of the frame and place it next to the machine.
-
-
-
Use the two included 1-1/2 inch wrenches to twist the arbor shaft nut counterclockwise while holding the backing plate in place.

-
Remove the arbor shaft nut, lock washer, and blade cap from the arbor shaft.
-
-
-
Lift the guide bar back up off the ground into its vertical position.
-
-
-
Use a 9/16 inch socket to remove the four bolts securing the arbor shaft bearings to the frame.
-
-
-
Remove the belts from the arbor shaft pulley.
-
-
-
Use a pen to mark the location of the pulley on the arbor shaft.
-
-
-
Use a 5/32 inch hex key to loosen the two arbor shaft pulley set screws.
-
-
-
Remove the arbor shaft pulley.
-
Remove the shaft key.
-
-
-
Use a pen to mark the locations of both of the arbor shaft pulleys.
-
-
-
Use a 1/8 inch hex key to loosen the two set screws on the arbor shaft bearing opposite the backing plate.
-
-
-
Remove the left arbor shaft bearing.
-
-
-
Use a 1/8 inch hex key to loosen the two set screws on the arbor shaft bearing next to the blade backing plate.
-
-
-
Remove the right arbor shaft bearing.
-
