Follow this guide to conduct a cylinder compression test on a 2019 Echo Power Pruner model PPT-2620.

    • Flip the power switch into the STOP position.

    • Make sure the engine is cool to the touch before proceeding.

    • Use a 5/8-inch spark plug socket to remove the spark plug from the engine.

    • Check if the spark plug is fouled and replace it if necessary.

    • The spark plug pictured in this step is in new condition.

    • Follow the instruction provided with your compression test kit to connect a compression tester to the cylinder.

    • Pull the starter 5–10 times to build pressure in the combustion chamber.

    • Read the compression gauge.

    • Pressure should read 125–165 psi (8.6–11.4 bar).
