If your drill stops working and the battery stops holding a charge chances are you need a new battery. You can find a replacement parts including the battery under the replacement part links in the device page. This guide will show you how to install this new battery.

Locate the battery and remove it from its slot at the end of the drill opposite the motor. It should be at the butt of the drill by the handle.
what kind of batteries can I use to replace them
B+D sell the replacement for ~$17
I don't know what type of batteries are used in this drill, but you can buy them by clicking on the link entitled Black and Decker Pivot Plus PD600 Replacement Parts on the main page, or by using the below
You should do a related tutorial on building your own replacement battery pack in this configuration, as this is used with the 600/600G and 700 G models.
1. What if you discover broken wires at the solder joints on the circuit board? 2. Which part of the charger connector is + and -? (The pin, or the shield?) Miike Smith 8/19/2021
Is there a schematic for the circuit board available?

Unplug the battery by pulling out both the red and black wires. They should come out easily with a little bit of force.

Now take the replacement battery and slide the metal parts of the wire into the metal part of the battery.

The battery replacement pack is nearly as expensive as a new drill and seemingly unavailable (universally marked for backorder), making this impractical for two reasons. Can someone who has replaced the battery pack disassemble it so we can see what components it’s made of? It may be easier to rebuild the battery pack from individual components rather than to order a stock one.
Also, the wires from the PCB connected to the motor are on the other side of the joint (where the drill bends), making the connections susceptible to metal fatigue. The black wire attached to the motor on my drill broke free from years of switching the joint from straight to charge and bent to use. I fixed it with scrap wire, cable ties, and a hot glue gun to ensure it never happens again.
Very disappointed in this product!!!

this drill adapter, why "6V" and the adapter body is marked 9VAC output? which is true output?
Can someone test the output and tell me the voltage? VDC? VAC? thankyou.
B+D sell the replacement for ~$17
Unfortunately I do not own the drill anymore so I can't test its output. I do know that the battery used is 6V, so I would assume that is the output. Hopes this helps!
Where can I buy the replacement battery pack for less than replacing the tool?
Well, I just checked B & D's web site and can buy a battery pack for $17.95 PLUS $10.99 shipping (cheapest offered).
I think buying a new one is a better idea.

Fast forward to 2021 you cant even buy the battery any longer. Another reason I do not truck with B and D anymore. This one will go where it belongs IN THE TRASH ! Even when you could buy it,it was way overpriced.
Garbage product ??????
Where do I order the replacement battery
On mine, you only have to loosen the butt end screw a little and pop the butt cap off, then release the red wire, gently pull out the pack, remove the black ground and reverse with the new battery. Wasted 15 minutes finding the tiny philips for the on screw by the drill/screw switch.
The replacement battery is no longer available through Black & Decker. Does anyone know an alternative or work around?
