Background
The Panasonic SA-PM17 is a 84dB/W, 2-way speaker stereo that features a 5-disc CD changer, audio cassette tray, AM/FM radio, and a remote control.
The product was originally released in 2002 and is one of several different SA-PM models that have been released both before and after it. Since its release, Sony has discontinued production of the stereo in pursuit of home theater packages and "MP3 Docking Solutions" such as the SC-HC series.
Identification
The stereo can be distinguished from other Panasonic models by its combination of a brushed steel finish and an extra LED screen on the CD tray cover. You can identify your stereo by the model number printed towards the top of the unit just below the Panasonic logo. The model and serial numbers can usually be found printed on the back of the device. The Panasonic site has helpful tips if you have difficulty finding this information.
