Dell XPS 13 9370 Battery Overheating
Dell XPS 13 9370 Frozen Screen
Background
The Dell XPS 13 9370 or Dell Extreme Performance System is a thin, lightweight laptop released in January of 2018 by the Dell Company. The 2018 release featured Windows or Ubuntu operating system options and a 13.3-inch screen size. The XPS 13 9370 was discontinued in early 2019.
This is the 5th generation XPS 13 with a redesigned, smaller, and lighter chassis. In addition the XPS 13 has 8th Gen Intel Core processors, a slimmer design, more powerful, a 4k display, and moved to the use of a USB-C port. However, the XPS 13 maintained the same SSD speed as its predecessors. There have been no manufacturer recalls on this device, but it has been associated with several hardware issues. The most notable concern is the risk of battery swelling which can cause bulging and is a potential fire hazard.
Identification
A laptop produced by Dell, with a slimmer and lighter chassis than the previous models. This model is identifiable by its signature InfinityEdge display featuring ultra-thin bezels on all sides which gives it a borderless look. It also features a woven carbon fiber palm rest and the infamous bottom bezel webcam placement. Another feature offered by this model is the improved cooling system designed for sustained performance. Handles large workloads quieter and cooler than other models.
Unfortunately, with the downsizing to compensate for the slimmer, more appealing chassis, the battery is smaller and no longer has USB type A ports. Even with a smaller battery, the computer still has a long-lasting battery life. However, this version is preferred for the optimal design, power, and portability combination.
