Parts to Rebuild battery

I have a old Mac Powerbook 5300 with a m3254 battery that has of course left the world. I would like to rebuild it, but the original contacts have corroded, Does anyone know where I can get a rebuild able battery core?

If it's the NiMh/NiCd? Forget it, they're all rotten and corroded :-(. Apple shipped a few Lithium batteries so the logic is there but they were prone to fires so before they left the door, they went to NiMh. Old NiMh cells age by destroying the terminal and PCB.

Best bet is to gut the pack, use a power adapter and keep it for cosmetic reasons. You're not getting anywhere.
