If the Home button still clicks and functions normally but Touch ID doesn't detect your finger at all, that usually points to a communication issue with the Touch ID sensor rather than the button itself.
Since the phone was previously opened for a network repair, it's worth checking the Home button flex cable and connector for damage or poor contact. A board-level issue is also possible if the repair affected the Touch ID data lines.
I'd also check for any panic logs and run an iPhone panic log analysis. While Touch ID issues don't always generate panic logs, they can sometimes reveal hardware communication errors that help narrow down the cause.
