MacBook battery cable Problem

Hello, I have a 2017 MacBook Pro 13-inch. I recently replaced the screen, and after the repair, the laptop would not power on unless it was connected to a high-wattage charger. It does turn on with the AC adapter, but there is an “X” over the battery icon, and if I unplug the charger, the laptop immediately shuts off.

I suspect the issue may be the battery ribbon cable, which I’ve already ordered, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this or knows what the problem might be.

Thanks in advance!

Looking at the picture (left side connection) the cable isn't pushed into the connector and latched down.

Double check the ribbon cables ZIF connectors as often the compression latches are not properly set so the connection is not making good contact. Review the steps 11 & 12 in the MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017 Battery Replacement jump between two images of Step 11 note the lifting of the latch. Make sure the latch is reset pressing it down once the ribbon is squarely in place on both ends.
