The Intel T2 systems can't really be unlocked, so while there is a firmware level lock (PIN code) it's likely to also have its storage locked (iCloud locked) as well. Depending on the company they often do this to prevent IP/data theft. So that limits the system and you could have someone banging at your door to recover the system.
So the best way to get something here is to just get a replacement logic board from a reputable seller and just be done with it than the costs of finding someone who can replace the discrete chips and who can get the which I think is about zero now.
