PS5 DualSense Controller Triangle Button Stopped Working

Hi,

My son dropped my controller a few times and all of a sudden the triangle is not working very well. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I tried cleaning it up from the outside and I'm a bit sceptical about opening it as I might just make it stop working completely. Does anyone have experienced something like that? R2 trigger is also in the same condition (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't).

Hi there!

Can you still press them in? How does the button feel? Still "Clickable"?

If not, you might want to clean everything inside (with isopropyl alcohol) and replace the rubber.

If that doesn't work, then you need to replace the button circuit membrane... There is no guide for it, yet. But you can follow the same guide to get there.

Regarding the R2, try cleaning first! If that doesn't work, then you might want to replace the trigger assembly..

Hello! Yes, I can still press the button and sometimes it works but for some reason it just stops working now and then.

I will try with your first option and write here if that actually worked or not. Thanks for the tip. Hopefully I won't break it :')

Alright, yes then cleaning would be the first thing to do! Hopefully the controller will remain intact. Good luck with the repair :)!
