Black camera screen still takes photo

The view I see in the camera is totally black with one white line in middle. The camera still takes a picture, I just can't see what pic I'm taking. What is wrong?

First off Apple produced quite a few iPhones, we really need to know the generation to dig deeper. Using this listing can you identify which model you have EveryMac - IPhones listing

To be clear, your display screen is normal using other Apps and only Black when using the camera? And the cameras (both front and back) are able to take pictures only one of the back cameras is failing?
