The Samsung Galaxy A71 is an Android smartphone manufactured by Samsung Electronics as part of the Galaxy A series. It was released in January 2020. Versions: SM-A715F/DS, SM-A715F/DSN (Global), SM-A715F/DSM (Russia).

A71 has water damage

I have an A71. It has water damage. A tech looked at it and changed the screen and charging port and cleaned up some corrosion inside the phone. He could not get it to power up/on. Is there any way to change the memory components from my phone to another A71's motherboard?

@jdaniel70649 "Is there any way to change the memory components from my phone to another A71's" no, you can't the memory IC's are paired and encoded to your specific main board. The only way for you to recover your files is by getting the phone to turn on long enough to download those.

We definitely will need to know how "cleaned up some corrosion" this was done. If you want to give it a try, let us know and post some good pictures of what your main board looks like. You will also need a multimeter and have a few skills, like checking components and measuring some voltages.

Well kind of. You can swap the CPU AND NAND around, but those both have to be matched due to the encryption key being on the CPU with these newer phones. The rest is moot.

@nick its only kind of since we really do not what to confuse anybody ;-) Anything is possible with the right tools and skills. reballing IC's etc, is not an easy skill :) and like you said, most likely a moot point.

@oldturkey03 So easy for someone like me who can learn/knows, but for a beginner it's a dead end due to hardware encryption. THe baseband isn't critical given that has it's own set of paired chips and on a recovery operation, it doesn't matter. I'm buying a carrier locked special at the lowest price possible and tossing it in the parts bin once I'm done, especially an A71.
