Broken screen: is the ONLY damage?
I fell onto the driveway (?!) and broke the screen on my Apple Series One Ultra watch. I have finally gathered all the tools and a replacement screen. I'm ready to begin repair. Now I'm wondering if there were something broken in addition to just the screen?
I did not smash the case but the screen is shattered. Inspection after my grown man tears revealed a watch TRYING unsuccessfully to work; there were smudgey ghost-like partial imagery on the shattered screen.
Should I go ahead with the repair?
Update (07/31/25)
Yes, Thank you again Dan. Yes: surgical precision is necessary for micro repairs. However, to complete assembly I need the delicate 49mm adhesive case gasket for reassembly.

So the display didn't come with the needed gasket? I don't see it listed on the iFixit parts listing as a separate item. I'll ping someone at iFixit to see if it's available on its own

Nope. Unless this black rubber banding around the perimeter is considered all you need There's no covering on it as you would expect to protect the adhesive. This is for the Ultra One watch. I haven't opened it yet. I have a photo showing the black rubber perimeter but haven't figured out how to include it. Thank you for helping us.
