As far as upgrading the firmware on this radio? Not likely. I know in some edge cases such as MB radios JUST SHY of being officially enabled by MB in later years it was the same radio with a different MB P/N for the year it became available, but there's a strong chance the radio in this car is running some proprietary OS or WinCE, and can't take the upgrade directly like many ARM Linux radios take well. You're dealing with an Altima, it's probably got a mediocre chipset.

Your best bet will be a good aftermarket double DIN radio. As long as the climate controls aren't some software BS like so many modern cars, you can buy a good Sony or Pioneer head unit with CarPlay/Android Auto.
