While the keyboard backlight is electrically the same across the laptops. We try to keep the models independent as the physical layout is often different.
As you didn't express how your system is failing Here's the rundown:
- A uneven backlight is strictly an issue within the backlight light source as the illumination panel has a collection of LEDs which light up a section of the keyboard. One or more may not be lit.
- An over-all dim keyboard is often caused by silage into the keyboard blocking the light or the brightness setting is not set or the buck converter logic within the logic board is having problems which is often a capacitor or inductor failing.
- If the backlight is not lighting that's often a breakdown of the electrical pathway between the logic board and the backlight panel caused by corrosion eating away the connectors and solder joints. Rarely is in the transistor logic (chip) more often it's a bad solder joint than the chip it's self.
Can you give us a better idea what you are encountering so we can help you. As you can see there are many paths and depending on your symptoms each one is a bit different.
