Does this screen need to be replaced?

I wonder if this screen might be able to be repaired, and not necessarily replaced. Would it be worth it to take it off and reattach it to see if that fixes the problem, before I buy a new one?

Hi @scottvandekrol

Damaged (cracked) LCD screens cannot be repaired, they have to be replaced.

Here's the ifixit Google Pixel Tablet Screen Replacement guide, that shows what to do.

thanks @jayeff. Just to clarify, I don't see any cracks on the screen, and thought maybe it might just be a loose connection?

@scottvandekrol

The screen's internal connections are a matrix arrangement of vertical and horizontal lines.

Loose connections result in black horizontal or vertical lines not curves.

Run your fingers very lightly across from a coloured section of screen to the black and check if you can feel a difference at all.

If you can't feel anything most likely it is internal damage that you can't see.
