Need a guide assembling CPU back bracket

I am seriously at my wits right now

I wanted to upgrade my EMC 3069's CPU from i5 to i7 7700. I did the cleaning and repasting. I struggled too hard to install CPU's the back retainer then I proceed with assembly and, of course, PC won't boot at all. Only the first debug LED light is lit. Then I disassembled everything and found out that the CPU is bent very badly in the corners.

I threw that 7700 to trash and installed the old original i5, Again I struggled too hard with the cooler's retainer, after the second reassembly the PC didn't boot again, only first debug LED is lit. Disassembled, found out that it is, again, the CPU is very badly bent.

I couldn't find a single guilde on the interwebs as to how install this properly so here I am asking for a guide since I am going to get the third CPU, because third's the charm, I guess...

Apple's engineers did the worse possible setup here! It's not easy for sure. The spring doesn't need to be as powerful as it is. I carefully bend back to spring tension so it's easier to set.

I find a tongue depressor can help, I cut it in half so it can go across the top of the chip along the edge on each side so when I pull them out the TIM gets squeezed where they where. Thus it holds the chip in the correct alignment within the socket. It's best to have a second pair of hands here.

Then how you tighten the screws is important! Just like how the lugs of a tire is tightened you need to ease the heatsink down evenly going in a cross pattern.

I flattened the spring and going to try again with the third CPU today. Hopefully I didn't damage motherboard
