The ET-2850 is one of the Epson models with the rear feed mechanism, which isn't built around heavy paper stocks - the only ones Epson has built around heavier media are the 13x19+ machines, such as the SureColor, Photo HD, and the ET-8500/8550. Check the media weight -- if it is just plain paper stock (20-24lb, some mid weights like 30-35lb), then it may be the rollers are dirty, given that these depend entirely on the rear feeder. If this is the case and you aren't using photo paper or even cardstock, check the rollers for wear and dust. In the past, the Stylus Photo wide-format series was designed for it. However, Epson discontinued those years ago and changed the model lineup.
If the rollers are just dusty, the only way I feel comfortable with on the CISS printers is using cleaning sheets like this: https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/2.... Two to three sheets through the printer tend to clear up dust or debris pickup failures. However, if the rollers are worn out, you may need to either see if it is possible to replace the rollers on the unit (which may be possible, given the 8500/8550 was built around repair, given it wasn't built to a price like the A4/Letter CISS tank Epsons). This may be built to a price given the tier of printer it is, so you may not be able to. I'll take a look and see if I can find a free SM, but the only way I know of to buy the SM is places like the place I bought the SM for my cheap MS631 I got due to a bad screen but bought to have around should I need it like I have for the MS621.
You have to buy it, but you can do what I would probably do if someone needed it and give it to someone who needs it like I would if someone asked me for that MS631 SM: https://www.2manuals.com/product_info.ph...
