Repair, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the Steam Deck with LCD display, a handheld gaming console made by Valve, released on February 25, 2022. Identified by model number 1010.

Usbc pinout and components

I've got a F7a Rev F motherboard that has 3 missing components on the back side of the usbc port. If I'm not mistaken these are the Rx and Tx pins. Does anyone know the values of these components? I'm guessing they are 10nf capacitors but I have no way of testing at the moment.

Also, I ripped the trace on the bottom left vbus pin. Should I try to run a jumper wire or is it not necessary because it's redundant?

Edit: I've updated the pictures since my initial post for anyone else who ends up here. These pics are more accurate and include part #'s from Mouser.com

It's 1am here but Please yell at me in the morning and I will poke at my board and see if I can get you some info

Hi Alisha,

do please let me know what you find! Thanks!

Sorry for the delay on this. Life has been very hectic.

First of all, this is very me levels of working out a problem. I mean that as a compliment I promise. I would also read these as Rx and Tx lines. There are more lines on the reverse side of the board for the remaining Rx/Tx lines.

Because those generally occur in pairs we can make an assumption about values. Components on correlated data pairs should be the same. I observed this in practice when I was measuring. I took them out of circuit, since that's the best way to measure capacitance.

The components highlighted in orange on the left hand side both measured about 450 nF.

The components on the right, highlighted in yellow were both about 300 nF.

I actually expected these to all be the same so I am glad I measured all of them.

Sorry for the long delay! I really appreciate you going out of you way for a stranger. It's worth mentioning, I got my hands on a meter so I could test capacitance. I actually found, in my case, that the two left ones are 330nf and the two right are 220nf.

@garretthann Aww thanks. :) Sounds like ours might be a slightly different board revision, but glad you got it all sorted out. I hope?
