We don't know what you mean by "a little blue part", Aron. Can you show us a picture of where the part goes? At the very least, please add a picture of the back side of your belt buckle. Is that where the part goes, or does it go on the belt itself? The more clarification you can give us, the better chance we can help.

Hi, I’ve added a photo when I posted the question isn’t it visible? If it is, it’s the blue triangle on the bottom left of the belt buckle. The belt buckle is a Union Jack. Thank you for taking the time to reply!!!

@aronsaga Ah, my apologies; these old eyes didn't spot what you meant right away. I see what you mean now.

Not really in the spirit of this site, Hannah. We're trying to empower people to repair their own things rather than having to take them to a shop and pay someone else to do what you can yourself.

It's likely die cast andf filled with Epoxy, but there is a chance it was added with a patch that was made beforehand. What you can do is measure it with a digital caliper and directly fill it with a matched Epoxy, or cut a patch and use resin on that then install it in the buckle. To me at least it looks like it was filled with epoxy at the factory, so you probably want to use UV resin and resin dye to fill it in.

If I had to color grade it for filling I would buy a small piece of sheet metal to test the color match. Sheet metal will never grade the same as cast metal but will be a way to do nondestructive color match grading. It will never be perfect, but if you do it right and try and mirror the 3D look of the original make it as close to the lost part as possible.

I think Nick is on the right track here, but it looks like it may be a bit simpler than what he's proposing.

You can buy epoxy resin hobby kits that are used for casting molds; I remember making grape clusters when I was a kid. You can buy all kinds of different dyes to obtain whatever color you want. Basically, you mix the two parts of the epoxy, add in the color you want, then fill the missing triangle in your belt buckle. Once it dries, it'll be there permanently. The only part that will take some experimentation is getting the color matched; that will probably take quite a bit of trial and error. Here's an example of the kind of craft kit I'm talking about.

The reason I had the caliper link is because I was on he fence about if it was directly poured or put on a patch. I think it's casted and poured direct with the design but I could be wrong.
