The March 2015 update of Apple's 11" MacBook Air features fifth generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, resulting in slightly increased performance and battery life.

Replaced battery and still won’t power up

I recently ordered a new battery for my MacBook Air 11”  1.6 Core I5 model A1465 ECM 2924. I installed the battery as per your directions. It charged for just over 2 hours and I then let it charge an additional 2 hours. I was not able to get it to power on. I’ve tried a different power supply from my wife’s MacBook Air and no change. I tried a Power Cycle still not turning on. Also tried SMC Reset to no avail.

Are you getting an Orange light when charging and a Green light when 'fully charged'?

Try carefully disconnecting the battery and then plugging the charger as this should auto boot the unit, this may help to eliminate any issue with the board that are not battery related. Go over again the guide for MacBook Air 11" Early 2015 Battery Replacement and ensure that the battery connection on the board is not damaged in any way as the pins can get squashed to the side which will cause a failure in charging and power distribution, and also all the other connections are firmly in place, especially on the I/O board and the track pads connecting cable as this would stop the power on button from functioning.

@livfe - The USB-C power meter won’t help here, this system uses the older MagSafe power connection.

@danj Yes I know, then how does any technician measure any power input on these models? Do they also not charge by USB alone (IDK as I never tried it). I believe in the past you even said to get a USB tester from another question????

@danj Yes my mistake (Removed from answer). Thanks.

@livfe - The newer USB-C based systems (2016 onward) allow charging via USB-C. This is an older USB 3.0 system which can’t be powered by the USB port only via its MagSafe connection.

Just like the Uni’s you need to probe the MagSafe connector from the logic board side of things.

@danj Yes correct.
