Broken display on Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen (20R1)

Hello! The display has stopped working. The issue happened because a child left a small Lego piece near the hinge of the laptop, and then tried to close the lid forcefully.
What’s unusual is that only one vertical segment of the screen stopped working — exactly one-fifth of the display.
Given this, I have a question: it seems like this might not be a problem with the LCD panel itself, but rather an issue with the cable. Is this possible, and how can I properly diagnose this type of malfunction?
