Samsung Galaxy A12: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Issues

"I’m having connection issues with my Samsung Galaxy A12. Here’s what’s happening:

1. Bluetooth: I can't connect to other phones. Every time I try, it always asks me to enter "pairing mode" instead of connecting normally.

2. Wi-Fi: When someone shares Wi-Fi with me, my phone connects, but after about a minute, it disconnects by itself.

3. Hotspot: I can't share my Wi-Fi with others. My mobile hotspot doesn’t work.

I have tried resetting network settings and updating the phone, but the problems are still there. Could this be a hardware issue, or is there another solution?"

@edmondshnaider from a hardware perspective, BT and WiFi are pretty much the same circuit on the IC. Use the Samsung Troubleshooting page for the no BT/WiFi issue

That means you will need to check the components as listed on the flowchart (i.e. C3014 etc.) Use your PDF readers search function on this Component Layout file, to locate the components on your boards. Ones you find if there are components that are failing, let us know which ones so we can try to find the proper replacements for you.

Of course, you want to make sure that you have your software updated (if available ) and that you checked the network settings. Sometimes a reset might resolve this as well, if it is firmware/software related. Just remember that a hard reset (factory reset) deletes all settings, 3rd-party apps, app data, and media and document files. Make sure you have your phone backed-up before trying this.

Hi @edmondshnaider

Try using the WiFi or the BT as close as possible to the WiFi router or BT device you want to pair with i.e. <10cm and check if the connections remain stable etc.

If they do it may be an antenna problem- loose or faulty, as both WiFi and BT use the same antenna.

Here's the ifixit Samsung Galaxy A12 Disassembly guide. The blue coax antenna can be seen in Steps.5 and 6 where it connects to the main and sub boards.
