Released in July 2018, the 15" MacBook Pro, model A1990, features a 15.4 inch LED-Backlight display with True Tone technology, TouchID, and up to 6 Core i9 Processor.

What replacement chips/diodes do I need?

So im looking to source replacement parts for this motherboard. I purchased a replacement motherboard (which shows how it should look!) but more interested in terms of a hobbyist to source replacement parts and have a go at switching out bad for good. However, cant seem to find the right parts to purchase.

Any help would be great!

TIA

We really need the board number which is part of the copper trace layout (well hidden) the number should be 820-xxxxx with the X’s here either a four or five digit number and maybe a dash letter as well. Maybe also the systems size 13 or 15” as well as its year.

Thanks Dan! I can see 820-01041-A :)

@deanalderton - based on the board # you have a 15” 2018 system is that correct?

Correct! Macbook Pro 2018 15" - I should have led with that

So I think I found the correct p13usb chip, but struggling with the (assume smd diodes? next to it, with 43 written on the top..

Board viewer says theyre called D3002 and D3004

@deanalderton that is correct. Reference designator D3002 and D3004 (as well as the other two;-) are both BAS70LP diodes in a DFN1006-2 package. You can get those from places like this Your IC is a PI3USB32324 which is still available at places like this Not my favorite "store" but seems to be one of the few that still carry this obsolete IC. Of course, you can also harvest the IC from your donor board.
