Apple's October 2020 refresh of its iPad Air tablet, sporting an A14 Bionic processor, a 10.9" screen, a new design, and in-button TouchID.

Can anyone tell me what these spots are?

I’m changing the screen on an iPad Air 4. The screen was shattered by something being dropped on it. The battery seemed to be fine before, but when I removed the screen I noticed these spots on the battery. Is it now necessary to change the battery as well?

Yes, this iPad batteries outer protection has been punctured!

It also looks like part of the cell structure is also exposed. At this point charging this battery will likely go critical.
