Repair and disassembly information for Google's Pixel 7 smartphone, released in October 2022. Identified by model number GVU6C and GQML3.

broken display connection, (botched screen + battery replacement)

I tried to replace the screen on my pixel 7, but in trying too hard to get the battery out i seem to have damaged the connector for the display. is it fixable, or do i need to replace the motherboard / give up?
apologies for the poor quality photo, i had to use my old & heavy camera and a loupe to get the photo, as what i would normally use is in this state.
it seems to me like one of the pins is broken and maybe a resistor is missing? i cant really tell as im not sure what it is supposed to look like.

Hey there Sebastion,

To answer your question the port is fixable, but the caveot to that is that you would either need the microsoldering skills and tools or have access to someone who would have the tools and skills. You could problably find a broken motherboard and use it as doaner parts if you're cool with attempting it yourself. Otherwise you could try finding a trusted repair shop that has the tools.

Best of luck to you!
